The Pentagon has identified three U.S. Army soldiers killed at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, one of the deadliest incidents involving American forces since combat with Iran resumed.

Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, and Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York, were killed on July 17 during an Iranian attack on the base. First Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, was killed the following day. Four others were wounded.

Rampersad was initially listed as missing; the determination that she had been killed followed the recovery of remains near the site.

The deaths brought the number of U.S. service members confirmed killed in the conflict to 17. The U.S. launched retaliatory strikes on Iran's Revolutionary Guard in the days that followed.

This is what sacrifice looks like, from a place you've never seen.

And when the ceasefire broke, every place where an American troop was stationed became a target.

Three of them called this home, and all three are gone.

It happened in Jordan when an Iranian missile struck the airbase there.
