January 13, 2026 — Since the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attacks in Israel, a global rise in antisemitism has set off a wave of incidents around the world. According to the Anti-Defamation League, antisemitic incidents in the United States reached record highs in recent years, with 9,354 reported in 2024 — a 5% increase from 2023, and the most ever recorded since the ADL began tracking in 1979. In Mississippi, a man started a fire at a historical synagogue, admitting he did so because it had Jewish ties. Ironically, that same synagogue, a half-century earlier, had been bombed because the Rabbi spoke out in favor of Civil Rights for African-Americans. During a press briefing in New York, officials talked about the disproportionate numbers of antisemitic attacks taking place compared to any other group in New York. “These numbers remain far too high."
