February 5, 2026 - Officials reportedly found signs of forced entry into the Arizona home of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother, who has been missing for three days, according to the AP.
Authorities believe Nancy Guthrie, 84, was taken against her will and abducted. They say they are in a race against time to locate the elderly woman who needs her medication daily, or she could die.
Savannah Guthrie asked for prayers on social media for her mother's safe return.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen on the night of Jan. 31 at her home outside Tucson. Her family reported her missing at noon, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said at a news conference on Feb. 2.
On Tuesday, the sheriff revealed few new details but urged the public to come forward with any tips.
Nanos would not say if the elderly woman’s disappearance were random or targeted.
There have been reports of blood found in the home, which authorities have declined to confirm.
Investigators are scouring surveillance video from nearby homes and analyzing data from cellphone towers. DNA was found at the scene according to authorities, but no suspect has yet been determined.
The FBI is assisting with the case by downloading and analyzing cell phone data and cell tower information, and interviewing and providing support.
Anyone with tips can contact them at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
