They said I was hired on the spot.

All I had to do was buy the laptop they'd reimburse me for.

That was my rent money.

I never saw it again.

They thought they were getting dream jobs.

Instead, empty bank accounts, ruined credit.

They mailed me a check, told me to buy supplies for them.

It was fake.

Now I owe thousands of dollars.

They asked for my driver's license and Social Security card to start HR paperwork.

Now someone's opening credit lines in my name.

They use fake recruiters, real company logos, full websites, even video interviews.

The company looks very legitimate, but the jobs?

They don't exist.

It's all a script.

These aren't just numbers in a file.

They are people on their last dollar, waiting day after day for the call that finally gets them a job.

If you're job hunting, never pay upfront.

Don't cash company checks.

Verify the recruiter on LinkedIn or the company site.

And if it feels rushed, it's a trap.

Because the one thing they're hiring is victims.
